STYLY, Inc. (formerly Psychic VR Lab Co., Ltd.) started the project at Shinjuku Pedestrian Route 2 (Times Avenue) on Friday, February 24, 2023.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government aims to raise the level of interest and understanding of urban development among citizens and other participants, and has been conducting various activities such as information dissemination.
This time, in cooperation with an Urban Development Bureau of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, we will use cutting-edge AR technology to express "changes in the redevelopment of Nishi-Shinjuku", "future Nishi-Shinjuku," and "visualized Tokyo urban data," with the aim of further enhancing the dissemination of information.

Project Duration: From 24 until 26th of February, 2023

Final Report

The project of STYLY, Inc. (formerly Psychic VR Lab Co., Ltd.) which has been implemented at Shinjuku Pedestrian Route 2 (Times Avenue) was completed in March 2023.

STYLY, Inc. (formerly Psychic VR Lab Co., Ltd.) used its real metaverse platform "STYLY" to communicate the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's urban development initiatives via AR, and conducted a questionnaire to the citizens who experienced the project.
Through a questionnaire, we examined the effects of information dissemination using cutting-edge technology on improving the attractiveness of the metropolitan government and understanding of its initiatives. In addition, a workshop was held for employees of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government on production and operation methods using "STYLY," and the possibility of self-propelling was verified through a questionnaire.

First, regarding the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's dissemination of information on urban development, 90% of those who experienced it said that their interest in urban development in Tokyo had improved or slightly improved.
One of the most common reasons cited for this was that the three-dimensional and visual information of the AR was easy to understand, confirming the effectiveness of the AR in generating public interest.

After the hands-on event, we prepared a system to easily replace some of the AR content we produced, and held a workshop where employees of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government could actually replace the content. The convenience and ease of providing information through XR content was verified through a questionnaire.

All of the five participants rated XR technology as effective in improving the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's ability to disseminate information and favorably evaluated its future use.

Based on the results of the above verification, we believe that Psychic VR Lab's real metaverse platform "STYLY" is highly useful for information dissemination utilizing cutting-edge technologies. At the same time, operational issues related to the use of AR in public places and the implementation of events were identified, and measures necessary to accelerate its use in the future were also identified.

In the future, we will use the results of this demonstration experiment to promote the introduction of the system through public procurement.
